In 2018 we conquered challenges and climbed to new heights. Check it out!

At PowerInbox, 2018 was a dynamite year. Even though 2019 is already in full swing, we’re still calibrating our engines and fine-tuning our strategy for the next 11-ish months (a good entrepreneur is always thinking and evolving), and looking back at all we achieved is like heaping kindling onto an already blazing bonfire.

We scaled to new heights (pun intended), expanded our audience by leaps and bounds and drank more caffeine than is probably healthy (we’d do it all again #noregrets).

Just how good was 2018? Let’s take a look.

A Wealth of Content

Last year, our network put up a jaw-dropping 10 billion — yup, that’s billion with a big fat B— pieces of live content, and those bits of content were seen by 150 million unique visitors each and every month. That kind of traction helps establish and grow authority and build rapport

PowerInbox content travels, too. Our code powered 5 billion monthly emails across 7,500 newsletters, delivering client branding to inboxes all over the world. Add to that more than 650 publishers using our platform and more than 50 using our AdServer for Email.

Social Butterflies

We’re all about the email, but that doesn’t mean we’ve left social media to linger somewhere in the valley while we happily hike our way to base camp. We sent out 1,742 social posts in 2018. In fact, we were all over Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Instagram with words of inspiration, exciting announcements and tips on how you can balance advertising and user experience. While serving up a hefty helping of value, we also managed to work in pics of socks and snowboarding, use a sprinkling of super-cool emojis and connect with our global PowerInbox family.

We Won Awards

It was a year of accomplishments, including three Fast 50 awards:

Thanks to our booming growth rate, industry-leading tech innovation and overall entrepreneurship, we’re on the radar from coast to coast, and that serves as inspiration to up the ante in 2019.

We Shared Advice

Our intrepid CEO, Jeff Kupietzky, contributed his sage advice on running a lean company to a plethora of publications courtesy of 35 insightful articles. His interview with Sudipto Ghosh included gems like, “So many have all but written email’s obituary, but we’re actually finding that it fills a significant and valuable role in the marketing toolkit” and “We are constantly looking for disruptions from the industry (i.e., changes to ISPs like Gmail or Yahoo Mail) or new entrants because we believe every innovation provides a new opportunity for better audience engagement.”

Jeff made waves with his takes on email as a Facebook alternative and focusing on product instead of investing in an overpaid sales team, extolled the power of a CEO who can say no and gave a talk on the emergence of Silicon Alley in NYC that turned into DMN’s most-downloaded podcast of 2018. In short, he’s a guy who knows his stuff and is kind enough to share.

There Were Lots and Lots of Socks

Like most humans with a pulse, we love swag. We love getting it, we love playing with it, we love wearing it and using it, but most of all, we love giving it out. We sent out 937 pairs of knee-high socks — or full-length leggings, if you’re a small fry — emblazoned with our logo and a cool PowerInbox-related pattern to customers and prospects. It’s another way we’re showcasing our penchant for thinking outside the box and keeping our brand top of mind in unique, memorable ways.

About That Caffeine …

We admit it. We had 2,629 cups of coffee every month in 2018. That’s about 86 cups a day and a jitter-inducing 31,548 cups total for the year. And every single one of them was delicious.

We also took an off-site trip to a Texas barbecue and two-stepping event, but that’s a story (and a set of pictures) for another time.
